Description
On our second night in Estes Park in Colorado, my wife and I decided to take an evening ride back into Rocky Mountain National Park. We wanted to drive through the campsites on the east end of the park for reference on future visits. As we did we found our selves in a huge meadow with a very fast moving stream running through it. There were grand sweeping views of the mountains with the meadow and river as foreground. I took a few of those and will post the best one soon. What really attracted me to the area was a small stand of aspen trees. I have always loved the bark and motion of the aspen leaves in even the slightest breeze. I took a dozen or so shots of them, but really like this close up shot. The sun was already behind the mountains so there was just a soft, almost flat light. This is a digital capture taken with a modern mirrorless but I processed it using an Black and White tool. I think this came out pretty well and captured the essence of the evening. I also shot some with a 40 year old SLR using high quality Black and White film. I will post an image from that set when it gets back from the developer.
