Artist's Description
Located on Arrowsic Island in Maine, Squirrel Point Light is one of four navigational aids dating back to 1895 along the Kennebec River's 11 mile stretch between the Atlantic Ocean and Bath, Maine. You have to drive down Arrowsic road to a nondescript dead end, then take a beautiful 20 minute walk through a sumac grove, mash area and finally upland hardwood forest to get to this lighthouse. We have been here many time before, but this time were were happy to see that major restoration was underway preserving this important piece of Maine's history.
Since I was shooting into the sun, I needed to do an HDR to cover the exposure differences and still bring out all the details of the shady side of the lighthouse.
